米ビジネスインテリジェンス企業マイクロストラテジーの共同創設者マイケル・セイラー氏は28日、同社が開発するビットコイン（BTC）のL2技術「ライトニングネットワーク（LN）」関連のプロダクトについて語った。翌第1四半期のリリースを予定している。

マイクロストラテジーは、これまで培ってきたエンタープライズ向けのWebベースアプリケーションにLN技術を統合し、企業活動のあらゆる側面でLNの即時決済・送金機能を簡単に採用できるようにする方針だ。

同社が構築しているLN関連サービスは、企業向けのライトニングウォレットの作成機能をベースに、内部統制サービスやコンテンツの収益化、ペイウォール（条件付き有料化）、マーケティングソリューションが含まれる。

例えば、レビューを投稿するエンドユーザーに、ビットコインの最小単位「Satoshi」を配布可能にする（1Satoshi＝0.00000001BTC）マーケティング機能がある。

ツイッタースペース（音声配信）でセイラー氏は、「我々はLNをエンタープライズ技術に接続させ、先進的な考えを持つCMO向けにマーケティング戦略として提案したい」と語った。

また、ユーザー自身がウォレットの秘密鍵を管理する「ノンカストディアル」型の仮想通貨ウォレットを採用することで、1億人に普及する可能性があると強調した。

マイクロストラテジーのLN関連サービスは企業Webサイトでコンテンツを一部有料化し、対価を支払ったユーザーのみアクセスできるようにするペイウォール機能も想定される。セイラ―氏はこの方法が収益化だけでなく、サイバー攻撃に対してのセキュリティ対策として役立つと述べた。

同氏は、機密性の高い企業サイトに「100,000 Satoshi（約2万円）」の保証金を設定し、閲覧完了後に即座に資金を返還するなどの使い方を例示。気軽に資金を往来させる使い方は、クレジットカードには出来ないと加えた。

マイクロストラテジーは毎年1月末にイベント「Bitcoin for Corporations」を開催しており、ＬＮ関連プロダクトの詳細や、企業の導入支援を目的としたリソースについて、そこで公開予定としている。

マイケル・セイラー氏は22年8月に、マイクロストラテジーの最高経営責任者（CEO）を退任して、同社のエグゼクティブ・チェアマンに就任。ビットコイン・エコシステムに貢献する事業に専念している。

マイクロストラテジーは2020年8月からビットコインを購入し始め、企業として最大の保有者として知られている。22年11月1日〜 12月24日までに2,500 BTCを買い増し、12月27日時点の保有量は132,500 BTCとしている。期間中に同社は税金対策として一部BTCを売却したが、即座に買い戻していた。

マイクロストラテジーはBTC投資行動の資金源として一部「担保付き融資」を活用してきた。過去1年間にビットコイン価格は64%下落しており、担保として差し出されたBTCの清算ラインを懸念する声も少なくない。

Blockworks researchによるマイクロストラテジーの財務分析によると、全体的に比較的清算ラインまで余裕があり、流動性の補填余地も残されている。同社は「当分の間マイクロストラテジーはビットコイン市場に対して直接的なリスクをもたらさない」と結論づけていた。
